Dr. Alla Bodner

‘‘Taking extra care to understand a patient’s background and health history allows me to establish a personalized treatment plan for each patient and ensure better follow up and adherence. Working with the patient to identify individual short-term and long-term health goals leads to an overall healthier lifestyle.”

Dr. Bodner resides in Glenview with her husband, three sons, and two dogs. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic technique and DaVinci Robotic surgery. She brings her extensive knowledge of family planning and caring for patients in all the stages of reproductive cycle.

Dr. Bodner joined our practice in 2017. She received her bachelor’s degree from Lake Forest
College and her medical degree from Ross University Medical School. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago and became board certified in 2015.

Dr. Joseph Capezio

‘‘I always have fun in the office – I truly enjoy my job. Over the last thirty years, I have watched the practice grow and am now providing multigenerational care. Delivering an infant is as exciting today as it was the first time.”

Dr. Capezio is married and has two grown children. He enjoys many cultural opportunities in Chicago, including theater, the opera, and trying new restaurants.

Dr. Capezio has always been on the forefront of minimally invasive surgery–major surgery performed through tiny incisions, which leads to a quicker recovery for the patient. He was recently certified to perform tubal ligation with Essure, permanent birth control without incisions. He is also skilled in the management of abnormal vaginal bleeding and high-risk pregnancies.

Dr. Capezio completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University. He then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received his M.D. He completed his residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and has since been with Women’s Health Specialists for thirty-three years.

Dr. Andrew Deutsch

‘‘Everyone is unique and each patient presents for a different reason. I enjoy getting to know the patient, their story, and I make sure to address each issue. I encourage my patients to ask questions. I feel fortunate that I am able to help women during some of the most important moments in their lives.”

Dr. Deutsch is married and has a son. He enjoys going on walks with his family.

Dr. Deutsch has been trained to perform gynecologic procedures using specialized minimally invasive techniques including a certification for the use of the DaVinci robotic platform. He has also received comprehensive training in obstetrics and is comfortable caring for high risk pregnancies

Dr. Deutsch received a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Masters degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Illinois. He then attended Chicago Medical School where he received his M.D. and completed residency training at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

Dr. Carla Loly

“Modern-day healthcare can include many elements-from contemporary Western medicine and surgical techniques to Eastern philosophies. Many of my patients have put a lot of time and thought into researching their medical concerns and come to the office wanting to explore their options. I encourage patients to discuss their views with me so that together we can design a plan that will maximize both outcome and patient satisfaction.”

Dr. Loly is married and has two young daughters. She enjoys yoga, cooking and adventure travel.

Dr. Loly has received training in a variety of minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy and hysteroscopic resection of fibroids. She welcomes input from her patients regarding alternative approaches to medical care, such as herbal medicines and acupuncture. Her individual areas of interest are management of abnormal Pap smears and contraceptive counseling.

Dr. Loly joined our practice in September 2004. She received a Bachelor of Sciences in biology from UCLA and went to medical school at Saint Louis University. She completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Carla became board certified in 2007.

Dr. Julie C. Snow

‘‘I feel that getting the patient’s input is paramount to providing excellent care. I like to approach a problem together with my patients, and I respect the research that patients do to learn about their medical issues. I pride myself on always keeping up with the latest advancements in medical technology.”

Dr. Snow is married and has two children and is also an avid runner, competing in triathlons and marathons.

Dr. Snow is interested in comprehensive care with special attention to the whole woman. She is skilled in counseling patients regarding the workup and treatment of infertility. She also has a special interest in helping women through perimenopausal changes. She is supportive of natural/alternative therapies. She encourages healthy exercise throughout a women’s life cycle. Dr. Snow is a gynecologic specialist. She enjoyed delivering babies for twenty years of her career, but does not participate in deliveries currently.

Dr. Snow has been with our practice since 1998. She completed her undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Illinois, then attended medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Chicago in 1998 and became board certified in 2000.

Dr. Katherine Tadros

‘‘I truly value focusing on understanding each patient’s experience as well as empowering them with knowledge to help guide their care. Building trust through open communication is paramount to me as well as respecting that the connection between the mind and body play a large role in goals of treatment. Every patient deserves an advocate for their health in each season of their life and that is what led me to the specialty of OB/GYN.”

In her free time, Dr. Tadros enjoys riding on her Peloton, caring for her many houseplants, walking and biking by the lake, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Tadros is passionate about providing patients the utmost respect and care they deserve. She prides herself on practicing evidence-based medicine and providing patients all tools necessary to play an active role in their care. She is committed to excellence in all aspects of patient care with a focus on education and prevention. Dr. Tadros provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic services including well woman care, routine and high risk prenatal care, and surgical intervention such as laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.

Dr. Tadros received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida and went to medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago where she received extensive hands-on experience with minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as well as high risk obstetrics. She spent one year on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush University Medical Center before joining Women’s Health Specialists in June 2021.

Dr. Soujanya Tummuru

‘‘I believe that my training as an Osteopathic Physician has helped me to become a well-rounded physician and focus on all aspects of women’s health and well-being. It is my sincere belief that you are never too young or old to be educated about your health and it is my hope that every patient leaves my office better informed.”

Dr. Tummuru lives in Chicago. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, working out and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Dr. Tummuru’s love for surgery and her desire to positively impact her patient’s lives while raising awareness for women’s health, led her to the specialty of OB/GYN. She is committed to promoting preventative medicine through annual exams and screening tests. Dr. Tummuru also participates in teaching medical students and residents throughout their training.

Dr. Tummuru graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Biology, and subsequently completed medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She trained at a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Long Island, New York. There, she received comprehensive training in all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive surgery. She is also well trained to manage both low risk and high risk pregnancies. Dr. Tummuru spent two years on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush University Medical Center, and joined Women’s Health Specialists in Sept of 2014. She is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist.

Dr. Dorina Scaunas

‘‘My philosophy is that the patient needs to be approached as a whole. Through education and counseling, the patient should be well-informed and be able to participate in the direction of her own care. I believe that excellence in care should be provided to best treat the various problems that women experience. My continued education keeps me on the cutting edge of medicine. This offers my patients an advantage in their overall care and outcomes.

Dr. Scaunas is married and has two children. She is fluent in Romanian, both written and spoken.

Dr. Scaunas’ approach to medicine is viewing the patient as a whole, while focusing on the treatment of menstrual abnormalities, uterine problems, and endocrinologic abnormalities that women experience throughout their lives, from puberty to menopause. She is skilled in performing surgery using advanced technologies that utilize minimally invasive techniques. She also has a special interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.

Dr. Scaunas has been in practice since 1994. She completed her undergraduate studies in biology and chemistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She attended Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, followed by residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Upon completion of residency, she was asked to remain on staff in the position of assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology. During that time, she developed an interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She became board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 1996 and has been with our practice since 2003.

Stephanie Conn, MS

I live in Chicago with my husband and dog, and in my free time I enjoy yoga, baking, and visiting new restaurants!

As a midwife I am passionate about caring for women throughout their lifespan. My particular interest is contraception and family planning.

A Certified Nurse Midwife, she completed her undergraduate studies at University of Michigan and her graduate studies at University of Illinois Chicago.

Nichole L. Brady, MSN

‘‘As a nurse practitioner, my main goal is to make my patients feel as comfortable as possible, but completely informed. I truly believe that each patient deserves adequate time and education when in my office. I make it my commitment that I spend enough time explaining and addressing concerns, so that my patients leave with no questions. However, when questions do arise I assure them that I am available at any time for them.”

Nicole is married and has a son and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and shopping. Nicole is interested in providing care and comfort to women of all ages. She dedicates herself in the areas of counseling women in preventative care, contraception, and family planning.

Nicole Brady has been with our practice since March 2008. She completed her undergraduate degree at Northern Illinois University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then returned to Northern Illinois University, after working for 7 years as an Oncology nurse, where she completed her Master’s in Family Practice. She became a certified nurse practitioner in 2006.

Deborah Johnson, CNM

Deborah is married; she has three children, an English Springer Spaniel named Brinkley and 2 grand-dogs. Mary things make her happy including traveling home to the East coast for seafood, being creative in the kitchen, enjoying time outdoors and seeing her many babies grow up through pictures and visits.

As a midwife, she is passionate about education and supporting patients through their birth experience. She focuses on each individual’s desires and preferences and will provide supportive care for natural childbirth as well as medicated labor options. She is committed to providing evidence based midwifery care within this supportive collaborative practice. In addition, she enjoy establishing long term relationships with her gynecological patients across the spectrum of their lives.

Deborah Johnson is a Certified Nurse Midwife who has been active in her profession since 1984. She completed her undergraduate education at North Park University and her graduate studies at Rush University.
